The City of Algona Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer. The successful candidate will possess strong communications skills and be familiar with the principals of community policing. Must be a graduate from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy or be able to become a graduate within one year of hire, be a Certified Law Enforcement Officer within one year of hire and meet all state psychiatric test standards. Physical and POST test date will be May 31, 2025 (ILEA graduates have no physical or POST test requirements).
